Angeliq is a medicine that contains two kinds of hormones, estrogen and progestin, to reduce signs of menopause such as hot flashes, vaginal dryness, itching, or burning.

Do not use Angeliq to prevent heart disease, heart attacks, or strokes. Using it may increase your chances of having a heart attack, stroke, breast cancer, and blood clots. Also, Angeliq may increase your risk of developing Alzheimer's disease. You and your doctor should talk regularly about whether you still need treatment with Angeliq.

Your doctor will instruct you on how to take Angeliq.

Side effects cannot be anticipated. If any develop or change in intensity, inform your doctor as soon as possible. Only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Angeliq.

  Breast pain, hair loss, headache, irregular vaginal bleeding, nausea/vomiting, stomach cramps

You should not take Angeliq if you have had your uterus removed, or have a history of breast cancer, blood clots or unusual vaginal bleeding. Also, Angeliq should not be taken if you are allergic to any of its ingredients, have had kidney or liver disease, or if you are pregnant.

Tell your doctor about all prescription, over-the-counter, and herbal medications you are taking before beginning treatment with Angeliq. Also, talk to your doctor about your complete medical history, especially if you are nursing, or are going to have surgery.

The effects of Angeliq during pregnancy and breastfeeding are unknown. Talk with your doctor before taking Angeliq if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding.

ADULTS

Angeliq should be taken orally as 1 tablet daily.

Any medication taken in excess can have serious consequences. If you suspect an overdose, seek medical attention immediately.
